We are living in an era where everything is either changing, improving or being created for the first time. Computers have been at the center of most of this change and now Leap Motion will change the way we interact with our computers. Motion control is nothing new, especially with the success of Kinect by Microsoft, but Leap Motion is taking motion control to a new level.
Leap is designed to fully integrate with tablets, smart phones, laptops and game systems, and it is allegedly 200 times more accurate than the existing technologies. If that’s not enough to intrigue you, it is all packed into a device the size of a stick of gum which plugs into your computer’s USB port.

So how does it work? Leap simultaneously tracks the movements from all ten of your fingers, allowing for a wide array of highly accurate movement readings within 1/100 of a millimeter. In addition to acting as a controlling device, Leap can also be used to “chain” devices together, creating a larger workspace. The result is more or less like something found in Tony Stark’s office.
Leap is expected to be available in very limited quantities (first by means of a pre-order here) for around $70 USD, with a full release planned by the end of the year. You can find more information through Leap Motion. Check out the demonstration video below to see it in action.
